Zyqual Progress Management System
Zyqual’s Progress Management System, formerly known as the Average Observation, is a powerful tool designed to help teachers track their progress and self-appraisal throughout the school year. The purpose of this system is to allow teachers to reflect on their teaching practices and work with their leaders and students to improve their practice continuously.

Teacher Level
At the Individual Teacher Level, the Progress Management System can help teachers set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals to improve their practice. For example, a teacher can use this system to identify areas where they need improvement, such as using more engaging teaching methods or providing better feedback to students. By tracking their progress, teachers can take steps to improve their practice and enhance their teaching effectiveness.
At the Subject Level, staff can collaborate to make changes that support each other. The Progress Management System can help heads of departments (HODs) and subject coordinators identify trends across different classes, plan relevant professional development, and share successful practices that can improve student outcomes across the subject area. For example, a HOD may use the data from the Progress Management System to identify that all teachers in their department need more training on assessment techniques. They can then plan a departmental training day that will support all staff in developing their assessment skills.
Faculty Level
At the Faculty Level, the Progress Management System can help the vice principal or faculty coordinator to identify trends across different departments and take actions to support the faculty's overall performance. For example, a faculty coordinator can use the data from the Progress Management System to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each department in their faculty. They can then use this information to provide targeted support to departments that need improvement, such as providing extra coaching or resources.
At the Whole School Level, the Progress Management System can help the principal make decisions and support the school as a whole. The system can be used to monitor the school's overall progress and identify areas where improvement is needed. For example, a principal may use the data from the Progress Management System to identify that more teachers need to be trained in a particular area of the curriculum. They can then plan a school-wide training day or arrange for external support to help teachers develop their skills.
At the QEC Level, the Quality Education Circle Convener can use the Progress Management System to support all the schools in their QEC. For example, the convener can use the data from the system to identify schools that are struggling in a particular area and provide additional coaching or support to help them improve.
At the Regional Level, the Education Officer can use the data from the Progress Management System to support all schools across the region. For example, the officer can use the data to identify areas where schools are struggling, plan relevant training and support programs, and provide additional resources to help schools improve.
At the National or Whole Country Level, the Jamaica Teaching Council can use the data from the Progress Management System to make decisions and provide training or support to everyone in the areas they need it the most. For example, the council can use the data to identify trends across different regions and provide targeted support to schools that need it the most.
Overall, the Zyqual Progress Management System is an effective tool that can support individual teacher development, improve subject and department performance, enhance faculty coordination and support, and guide decision-making at the whole school, QEC, regional, and national levels.
